In der Year To Date-Betrachtung des Retailmarktes zeigt sich in den öffentlichen Apotheken und Hausapotheken in Kalenderwoche 34 ein Umsatzwachstum von +9 % im Vergleich zu 2020. Das Absatzvolumen nimmt im Vorjahresvergleich um -1 % ab.

In der aktuellen Kalenderwoche wird ein Wachstum des Umsatzes von +11 % und +6 % im Vergleich zu 2019 bzw. 2020 verzeichnet. Der aktuelle Umsatz liegt mit -1 % unter dem Vergleichswert der Vorwoche. Wie in folgender Grafik ersichtlich ist, steigt die Impfrate nur mehr geringfügig an. Während 5.484.981 Personen bereits ihre erste Dosis erhalten haben gelten 5.184.589 Personen als vollimmunisiert.

Die Entwicklung des Absatzes der aktuellen Woche zeigt im Vergleich zur Vorwoche eine negative Entwicklung um -1 %. Dabei entwickelt sich der Absatz mit -1 % gegenüber 2019 und mit +1 %  gegenüber 2020.

Das OTC & Homöopathie-Segment verzeichnet im Vergleich zur Vorwoche und der gleichen Woche im Jahr 2020 eine Entwicklung von -1 % und +7 % und eine Steigerung von +4 % im Vergleich zu 2019. Health & Beauty zeigt eine negative Entwicklung von -6 % und -7 % im Vergleich zur Vorwoche und korresponidierender Woche des Vorjahrs sowie um -5 % gegenüber 2019.

Im Husten- und Erkältungssegment zeigt sich mit +11 % eine positive Entwicklung im Vergleich zur Vorwoche. Der Absatz liegt mit +20 % über dem Vergleichswert von 2019 und mit +60 % deutlich über dem Wert der Vergleichswoche von 2020.

Auch in anderen Märkten kann eine verstärkte Dynamik bei Absatz und Umsatz im Vergleich zur Vorwoche bzw. 2020 sowie im Vorjahresvergleich des Year To Date beobachtet werden:

In calendar week 34 the Year to date view of the retail market shows an increase in sales of +9 % but a decrease in volume of -1 % compared to 2020.

Sales of the retail sector show a decrease of -1 % compared to the previous week. Current sales are with +11 % and +6 % surpassing the same week of 2019 and 2020.

Volume shows a decline of -1 % compared to the year 2019 and +1 % in comparison with 2020. With -1 % the current calendar week is below the previous week. Up to and including week 34 of 2021, 5.484.981 Austrians received their first vaccination, and 5.184.589 are already fully vaccinated against Covid 19.

The OTC & Homeopathy segment shows an increase of +4 % and +7 % compared to the years 2019 and 2020. Volume of OTC & HOM is with -1 % below the previous week. Health & Beauty shows a drop of -7 % compared to the year 2020 and a decrease of -6 % compared to the preceding week. If we look at the numbers of 2019 and 2021 side by side, we see a decline of -5 % in Health and Beauty.

In the cough & cold segment an increase of +11 % in calendar week 34 compared to the previous week can be observed. Volume is +20 % above the corresponding week of 2019 and with +60 % significantly surpassing 2020.

Increased market dynamics in volume and sales vs. the previous week and 2020 as well as in the Year To Date comparison can also be observed in other markets:
