Es wurden in der aktuellen Kalenderwoche 307.276 bestätigte Covid-19 Fälle in Österreich gemeldet. Im Vergleich zur Vorwoche ist somit die Anzahl der Covid-19 Infektionen erstmalig seit Wochen um 30.026 Fälle gestiegen.

Ein Blick auf die aktuellen Impfzahlen zeigt, dass die Anzahl der verabreichten Impfungen weiterhin leicht zunimmt. Mit Stand der aktuellen  Woche gelten bereits 6.572.038 Personen in Österreich als vollständig geimpft. In Österreich haben bereits 6.803.599 ihre erste Impfung und weitere 5.034.911 Personen ihre zweite Dosis erhalten.

Bei der Betrachtung des Retail-Marktes zeigt sich in den öffentlichen Apotheken und Hausapotheken in der neunten Kalenderwoche ein Umsatzwachstum von +13 % im Vergleich zum Vorjahr. Verglichen mit der Vorwoche im aktuellen Jahr 2022 ist der Umsatz um +11 % gestiegen.

Die Entwicklung des Absatzes zeigt, ähnlich zum Umsatz, eine deutliche Zunahme von +11 % im Vergleich zum Vorjahr. Wenn wir den aktuellen Absatz dem Absatz der Vorwoche gegenüberstellen, sehen wir ein noch deutlicheres Wachstum. Es wurden um +21 % mehr Packungen abgesetzt als in der achten Kalenderwoche 2022.

Die folgende Grafik stellt die positive Umsatzentwicklung von patentgeschützten Rx Produkten und ungeschützten Rx Produkten dar. Auch diese zwei Segmente zeigen eine eindeutige Umsatzsteigerung in Höhe von +15 % bzw. +6 % im Vergleich zum Jahr 2021.

Gegenüber der achten Kalenderwoche des Jahres 2022 steigt der Umsatz der patentgeschützten Rx Präparate um +15 %. Ein ähnliches Bild zeigt sich für den Umsatz der ungeschützten Rx Produkte, die einen Anstieg um +14 % verzeichnen.

Zunächst betrachten wir die Absatzentwicklung in Packungen der zwei Märkte OTC & Homöopathie und Health & Beauty. Beim direkten Vergleich zeigt sich, dass sich beide Märkte sehr positiv in allen Vergleichsperioden entwickeln. Besonders der Bereich Health & Beauty weist, verglichen mit der Vorwoche, einen stark positiven Trend mit +23 % auf. Zum Vorjahr steigen die Absatzzahlen des Health & Beauty Marktes um +12 %. Das OTC & Homöopathie Segment wächst um +14 % zur vorhergehender Woche und um +20 % im Vergleich zur gleichen Woche im Jahr 2021.

Zum Abschluss sehen wir uns die Absatzentwicklung des Husten- und Erkältungsmarktes an. Das starke Absatzwachstum setzt sich auch in der aktuellen Kalenderwoche im Vergleich zum Vorjahr fort. Es sind +72 % mehr Packungen im Husten- und Erkältungsmarktes abgesetzt worden als in der Vergleichswoche 2021. Die Absatzentwicklung der Husten- und Erkältungspräparate liegt auch mit +18 % weit über dem Wert der vorhergehenden achten Kalenderwoche.

In the current calendar week, 307,276 confirmed Covid-19 cases were reported in Austria. Therefore, the number of active Covid cases has increased by 30,026 cases for the first time in weeks.

A look at the current vaccination numbers shows that the number of vaccinations administered continues to increase slightly. In the current calendar week, 6,572,038 people in Austria are already considered fully vaccinated. In Austria 6,803,599 people have already received their first vaccination and another 5,034,911 people have received their second dose.

Looking at the retail market, pharmacies recorded a significant increase in sales of +13 % in the ninth calendar week, in contrast to the same calendar week of 2021. Current sales also increase by +11 % compared to the previous week.

The development of volume in the ninth calendar week shows a significant increase of +11 % compared to the previous year. We also see an increase in volume with +21 % more packs being sold than in the previous week.

The two segments – protected Rx products and unprotected Rx products – also show an increase in sales of +15 % for protected and +6 % for unprotected Rx preparations compared to the previous year 2021. Compared to the eighth calendar week of the current year 2022, sales of protected Rx products increase by +15 % and unprotected Rx products by +14 %.

The following chart shows that volume for the OTC & Homeopathy and the Health & Beauty markets are developing very positively. Especially the Health & Beauty segment displays a positive trend with +23 % compared to the previous week. However, compared to the previous year, volume of the Health & Beauty market increases by +12 %. On the other hand, volume of the OTC & Homeopathy segment also grows with +20 % compared to the previous year as well as to the prior calendar week of 2022 with +14 %.

Finally, we look at the development of volume in packs in the cough and cold market. The strong growth of the previous week continues in the current calendar week compared to the previous year. In the eighth calendar week, the cough and cold segment is selling +72 % more packs than in the same calendar week of 2021. Volume of the cough and cold market is also with +18 % above the previous week.
