In der aktuellen Kalenderwoche wurden 432.966 bestätigte Covid-19 Fälle in Österreich gemeldet.

Ein Blick auf die Impfzahlen bestätigt, dass die Anzahl der verabreichten Impfungen weiterhin stagniert. Mit Stand dieser Woche gelten 6.583.625 Personen in Österreich als vollständig geimpft.

Betrachtet man den Retail-Markt, zeigt sich in den öffentlichen Apotheken und Hausapotheken in der elften Kalenderwoche ein Umsatzwachstum von +13 % im Vergleich zum Vorjahr. Verglichen mit der Vorwoche im aktuellen Jahr ist der Umsatz um -4 % gesunken.

Auch die abgesetzten Mengen weisen ein deutliches Wachstum von +13 % im Vergleich zum Vorjahr auf. Gegenüber der Vorwoche (KW 10) verringerte sich der Absatz um -2 %.

Die folgende Grafik stellt die Umsatzentwicklung von patentgeschützten und ungeschützten Rx Produkten dar. Diese beiden Segmente zeigen ebenfalls eine Umsatzsteigerung von +21 % bzw. +1 % im Vergleich zum Jahr 2021. Gegenüber der Kalenderwoche 10 gab es einen moderaten Umsatzrückgang von -4 % für beide Kategorien.

Betrachten wir die Absatzentwicklung der beiden Märkte Over the Counter (OTC) & Homöopathie (HOM) und Health & Beauty. Der Bereich Health & Beauty weist verglichen mit der Vorjahresperiode einen positiven Trend auf und wächst um +9 %. Gegenüber der Vorwoche gehen die Absatzzahlen des Health & Beauty Marktes um -5 % zurück. Das OTC & HOM Segment sinkt um -1 % zur vorhergehenden Woche und steigt um starke +28 % zur Vergleichswoche im Jahr 2021.

Wie auch schon in den letzten Perioden zeigt sich im Husten- und Erkältungsmarkt weiterhin ein eindrucksvolles Wachstum – die Kategorie wächst um +109 % im Vergleich zum Vorjahr. Gegenüber der vorhergehenden Kalenderwoche ist die positive Entwicklung des Marktes mit +6 % auch deutlich sichtbar.

In the current calendar week 432,966 confirmed Covid-19 cases were reported in Austria.

A look at the current vaccination figures shows that the number of vaccinations administered is stagnating. In the current calendar week, 6,583,625 people in Austria are considered fully vaccinated.

Looking at the retail market, the 11th calendar week shows a sales growth of +13 % compared to the previous year. Compared to the preceding week of the current year, sales decreased by -4 %.

The development of volume in the 11th calendar week shows an increase of +13 % compared to the year 2021. In comparison to the 10th calendar week of 2022 volume in packs diminished by -2 %.

The following chart shows the development of patent-protected and unprotected Rx products. Both segments also show a clear increase in sales by +21 % and +1 % compared to 2021.

Compared to calendar week 10, there was a -4 % decrease in sales value of patent-protected and unprotected Rx products.

The following chart shows the volume development for the markets Over the Counter (OTC) & Homeopathy (HOM) and Health & Beauty. Both segments develop positively in comparison to the previous year. Compared to the same period of last year, the Health and Beauty market shows a positive trend (+9 %). When looking at the previous week, the sales figures of the Health & Beauty market segment decrease by -5 %. The OTC & HOM segment declines by -1 % compared to the previous week and grows by +28 % compared to the same week in 2021.

Let’s have a look at the sales performance of the Cough & Cold category finally. The tremendous sales growth continues in the current calendar week compared to last year. The sold volume in packs increases by +109 % compared to the same week in 2021. The sales of cough and cold products outperform the respective sales of the previous calendar week by +6 %.
