Im Husten- und Erkältungssegment setzt sich in der aktuellen Kalenderwoche 44 der negative Trend der Vorwoche mit einem Rückgang von – 10 % im Vergleich zur KW 43 fort. Der Absatz bleibt dabei mit – 26 % auch weiter deutlich unter dem Wert von 2019.

Auch in anderen Märkten kann eine verstärkte Dynamik bei Absatz und Umsatz im Vergleich zur Vorwoche bzw. 2019 beobachtet werden:

In der allgemeinen Betrachtung des Retailmarktes zeigt sich in den öffentlichen Apotheken- und Hausapotheken in Kalenderwoche 44 ein deutlicher Umsatzrückgang von – 18 % im Vergleich zur Vorwoche. Dabei ist zu beachten, dass die KW 44 einen Feiertag enthielt und somit nur 4 Werktage aufwies. Der aktuelle Umsatz liegt mit + 7 % allerdings weiterhin deutlich über der Vergleichswoche von 2019.

Die Entwicklung des Absatzes folgt dem Umsatztrend und zeigt einen deutlichen Rückgang von – 17 % in Kalenderwoche 44 im Vergleich zur Vorwoche. Dabei liegt der aktuelle Absatz mit – 5 % auch leicht unter dem Vorjahresniveau.

Die 3 Segmente – rezeptpflichtige Produkte, OTC & Homöopathie sowie Health & Beauty – zeigen deutliche Absatzrückgänge im Bereich von – 10 % bis – 21 % im Vergleich zur Vorwoche. Im Vergleich zu 2019 liegen rezeptpflichtige Produkte dabei mit – 5 %, OTC & Homöopathie mit – 6 % und Health & Beauty mit – 3 % unter den Vorjahreswerten.

Bei Kassenrezepten, Privatrezepten und Selbstmedikationen ist ebenso ein deutlicher Rückgang im Bereich von – 8 % bis – 23 % im Vergleich zur Kalenderwoche 43 ersichtlich. Der Absatz an Kassenrezepten sinkt dabei mit – 7 %, Privatrezepte und Selbstmedikationen mit – 6 % bzw. – 4 % im Vergleich zu 2019.

Here you will find our newsletter on the current development of the pharmaceutical market in calendar week 44. 

Last week’s negative trend of the cough & cold segment continues in calendar week 44 with a decline of – 10 % compared to the previous week. Volume is thereby with – 26 % still well below the same week of 2019.

Increased market dynamics in volume and sales vs. the previous week and 2019 can be observed also in other markets:

In calendar week 44 sales of the retail sector show a strong decline of – 18 % compared to calendar week 43. In this regard it is important to note though that calendar week 44 included a holiday and thus only consisted of 4 workdays. Current sales are with + 7 % still well above the same week of 2019.

Volume follows a similar trend to sales with a strong decline of – 17 % compared to CW 43. In Calendar week 44 volume is thereby also with – 5 % below the same week of 2019.

The 3 segments – prescription products, OTC & homeopathy and health & beauty – show strong volume declines in the range of – 10 % to – 21 % compared to CW 43. Volume of prescription products decreases thereby by – 5 %, OTC & homeopathy by – 6 % and health & beauty by – 3 % vs. 2019.

The segments – health insurance prescriptions, private prescriptions and self-medication – also show strong decreases in the range of – 8 % to – 23 % vs. the previous week. In comparison to the calendar week 44 in 2019, health insurance prescriptions decrease by – 7 %, private prescriptions by – 6 % and self-medication by – 4 %.
