Im Husten- und Erkältungssegment setzt sich das starke Absatzwachstum der Vorwoche auch in der aktuellen Kalenderwoche 40 mit + 15 % im Vergleich zur KW 39 fort. Der Absatz bleibt dabei aber mit – 19 % immer noch deutlich unter dem Wert von 2019.

Auch in anderen Märkten kann eine verstärkte Dynamik bei Absatz und Umsatz im Vergleich zur Vorwoche bzw. 2019 beobachtet werden:

In der allgemeinen Betrachtung des Retail-Marktes zeigt sich in den öffentlichen Apotheken und Hausapotheken in Kalenderwoche 40 ein deutliches Umsatzwachstum von + 7 % im Vergleich zur Vorwoche. Dabei liegt der aktuelle Umsatz mit ebenfalls + 7 % auch weiter deutlich über der Vergleichswoche von 2019.

Die Entwicklung des Absatzes in Kalenderwoche 40 zeigt ähnlich zum Umsatz eine deutliche Zunahme von + 10 % im Vergleich zur Vorwoche. Da jedoch auch in der Vergleichswoche von 2019 ein deutlicher Absatzanstieg erfolgte, bleibt der aktuelle Absatz mit – 1 % leicht unter dem Vorjahresniveau.

Auch die 3 Segmente – rezeptpflichtige Produkte, OTC & Homöopathie sowie Health & Beauty – zeigen eine deutliche Absatzsteigerung im Bereich von + 7 % bis + 12 % im Vergleich zur Vorwoche. Dabei liegen die rezeptpflichtigen Produkte mit + 1 % auch knapp über dem Vorjahreswert, während dies Segmente Health & Beauty und OTC & Homöopathie um rund – 5 % unter der Kalenderwoche 40 von 2019 liegen.

Bei Kassenrezepten, Privatrezepten und Selbstmedikation ist ebenso ein deutliches Absatzwachstum im Bereich von + 7 % bis + 14 % im Vergleich zur Kalenderwoche 39 ersichtlich. Privatrezepte liegen dabei auch um + 6 % über der Vergleichswoche aus 2019, während der Absatz von Kassenrezepten und Selbstmedikation mit jeweils – 4 % unter den Vorjahreswerten liegt.

Strong growth of the cough & cold segment continues in calendar week 40 with + 15 % volume increase compared to the previous week. However, volume remains with – 19 % still well below the same week of 2019.

Increased market dynamics in volume and sales vs. the previous week and 2019 can be observed also in other markets:

In the general view of the retail market, sales of calendar week 40 show a strong growth of + 7 % compared to CW 39. Current sales lie thereby also by + 7 % above the same week of 2019.

Volume follows a similar trend to sales and shows strong growth of + 10 % compared to CW 39. However, in comparison to 2019, volume is thereby with – 1 % still little below the level to the same week of last year.

The 3 segments – prescription products, OTC & homeopathy and health & beauty – show a strong volume growth in the range of + 7 % to + 12 % compared to CW 39. In comparison to 2019 prescription products showed with + 1 % growth little growth, whereas health & beauty and OTC & homeopathy both decreased by ~- 5 % versus last year.

A similar picture can be observed for the segments health insurance prescriptions, private prescriptions and self-medication which show a significant growth in the range of + 7 % to + 14 % vs. CW 39. In comparison to 2019, health insurance prescriptions and self-medication declined by – 4 % each, whereas private prescriptions grew by + 6 %.
