Im Husten- und Erkältungssegment gibt es in der aktuellen Kalenderwoche 2 im Vergleich zur Vorwoche einen positiven Trend mit einem Wachstum von +8%. Der Absatz bleibt mit -57% weiterhin deutlich unter dem Wert der Vergleichswoche von 2020.

Auch in anderen Märkten kann eine verstärkte Dynamik bei Absatz und Umsatz im Vergleich zur Vorwoche bzw. 2020 beobachtet werden:

In der allgemeinen Betrachtung des Retailmarktes zeigt sich in den öffentlichen Apotheken und Hausapotheken in Kalenderwoche 2 ein starkes Umsatzwachstum von +79% im Vergleich zur Vorwoche. Dabei wies die Vorwoche in 2021 nur vier Werktage auf. Der aktuelle Umsatz liegt mit +14% ebenso über der Vergleichswoche von 2020. Dabei ist zu beachten, dass die KW 2 in 2020 einen Feiertag enthielt, während es in 2021 keine waren.

Die Entwicklung des Absatzes der aktuellen Woche zeigt im Vergleich zur Vorwoche ein Wachstum von +31%. Dabei liegt der aktuelle Absatz mit -3% leicht unter dem Vorjahresniveau.

Die rezeptpflichtigen Produkte, das OTC & Homöopathie-Segment sowie Health & Beauty zeigen im Vergleich zur Vorwoche eine positive Absatzentwicklung von +10% bis +41%. Ein Wachstum von +3% bei den rezeptpflichtigen Produkten und +11% im Health & Beauty-Segment, allerdings ein Rückgang von -18% bei OTC & Homöopathie sind im Vorjahresvergleich zu verzeichnen.

Bei den Kassenrezepten, Privatrezepten und Selbstmedikationen zeigt sich im Vergleich zur Vorwoche eine positive Entwicklung des Absatzes von +9%, +34% und +50%. Auch die Entwicklung im Vorjahresvergleich verzeichnet ein leichtes Absatzwachstum von +3% bei den Kassenrezepten und +2% bei Privatrezepten, jedoch einen Rückgang von -12% bei Selbstmedikationen.

Here you will find our newsletter on the current development of the pharmaceutical market in calendar week 2.

In the cough & cold segment a slight increase of +8% in calendar week 2 compared to the previous week can be observed. Volume is with -57% still well below the same week of 2020.

Increased market dynamics in volume and sales vs. the previous week and 2020 can also be observed in other markets:

In calendar week 2 sales of the retail sector show an increase of +79% compared to the previous week. The previous week in 2021 had only four working days. Current sales are with +14% also above the same week of 2020. In this regard it is important to note that week 2 in 2020 contained a public holiday, while there was none in 2021.

Volume shows an increase of +31% compared to the previous week. With -3% calendar week 2 is slightly below the same week of 2020.

The segments of prescription products, OTC & homeopathy and health & beauty show an increase increase in volume in the range of +10% to +41% compared to the previous week. In comparison to the same week of 2020, prescription products and health & beauty increased by +3% and +11%. The OTC & homeopathy segment is with -18% still below the same week of 2020 though.

Health insurance prescriptions, private prescriptions and self-medication increased by +9%, +34% and +50% in comparison to the previous week. Compared to the same week of 2020, health insurance and private prescriptions also show a slight increase in sales of +3% and +2%, but self-medication shows a decrease of -12%.
